Privacy Policy

Hometown Web Co. ("we", "us") is an independently operated website based in the United States. You can reach us any time through our contact form; we reply within two business days. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Information you give us:

When you request a mockup: your name, business name, business type, current website, email, phone, and any notes you send
Your name, email, and message when you use the contact form
For clients: the content, photos, logos, and account details you give us to build and run your website

Information that stays on your device: Browsing the site doesn't require an account.

Information collected automatically: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time) to keep the site running and secure. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

How we use it

To respond to you and provide what you asked for
To send the emails you signed up for, each with an unsubscribe link
To process payments and keep required records
To keep the site secure and prevent fraud or abuse
To comply with the law

We don't use your information to build advertising profiles.

Service providers that run parts of the site for us, under contracts that limit their use of your data: Netlify (website hosting and form storage), Stripe (payments, where offered), and Google Fonts (your browser loads typefaces from Google, which receives your IP address).
Tools we use to build and host client sites, such as domain registrars and hosting providers, only as needed to run your website.
Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or us.
Business transfers: if the business is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

Payments. Client payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, but never your full card number.

Sale and sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for money or for targeted advertising.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising. We give these rights to everyone, wherever you live.

To make a request, use our contact form and choose "Privacy request" or "Delete my data." We'll confirm we received it within 10 days and respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we'll respond within 60 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out of sale and sharing.

How long we keep it

Mockup requests from people who don't become clients are deleted after 12 months. Client content is kept while we host your site and for 90 days after it ends, so you can request a copy, then deleted. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires (generally 7 years).

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.

Children

Hometown Web Co. is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Visitors outside the United States

We're based in the United States and your information is processed here.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll post a notice on the site or email people we have contact details for.
